Student Sailor Scholarship Fund Update, January 21

This is the latest scholarship thermometer for student sailor, Elizabeth Sherfey as submitted by her grandmother, my friend, Jean Monroe.

Thank you so much for all the support! Received my first official sponsorship from an organization-special thanks to Rockland Kiwanis!

Jean Rowling Monroe (via Facebook, Jan. 20) Great to see that "support thermometer" rising! Elizabeth leaves in less than a week - and we will continue fund-raising - plans for some suppers coming up.
Let's keep it coming folks and good luck to you, Elizabeth!

The Polar Dip, the raffle for $500 gas card (which Joan Orlando won), and other fundraising events, along with donations - have brought the "thermometer" up to over half way to the goal of $9,750.00 needed to pay Elizabeth's tuition. She departs to spend 4 months aboard the Harvey Gamage (learning to navigate a schooner while continuing her high school education) on January 26. We will continue having fundraising events to get the remaining tuition paid by the end of May, when she will be back in Maine. Thanks to all who have (and will) help with contributions!
