NEW MUSEUM PICTURES

Capt. George McEvoy and Capt Jim Sharp in deep conversation in the midst of the a collection of historical marine propulsion units, in the newly opened in "live steam" section of Capt. Sharp's Sail, Power and Steam Museum in Rockland.

Capt. George is the founder of Boothbay's Railroad Museum and owner-captain of the 'Zwicker"'. Host Jim adds to his SPSM collection on a daily basis and continues to attract world known seafarers to sing their songs or relate their experiences. From many dusty attics and braries come unexpected donations of historic items adding to Jim's famed collection.

The new "Live Steam" section begrudges only the use of compressed air to the use of "live" steam to power most of the actually running engines of yesteryear located in the new new wing. Little is lost to reality however as the room comes alive with chugging, hissing and massive iron motion and provided the ideal site for mutual admiration for the two "salts" as they met.

Capt George's presence was occasioned by his visit to one of the Sunday "Jamm" sessions at the museum.
