GEM Television Productions

I invite you to visit the link below of GEM Television Productions. Founded by three local history buffs: Wayne Gray, Terry Economy, and Paul Merriam (thus GEM, the first initials of their last names), the business has produced over 50 productions on local history subjects and prominent citizens of the area. Many of the DVD productions are seen on Channel 7 in the local area.

The site shows some examples of their DVD productions. I especially enjoyed the piece on Eliza Steele and the EC Moran Insurance Company. My mother, Evangeline, once worked with the “Blackington” sisters, Audrey and Dorothy, as executive secretary to the Moran who was running the company in the 20s. The business is still in existence and has been since the 1800s.

Paul Merriam, locally known as “Gilly,” is a dear friend of our family and a fellow Southender. He interviewed me about my book, The South End, which is shown periodically on Channel 7. Many people have commented to me that they have caught the interview. It will appear on this blog site soon.

GEM Television Productions has other services available to the public. Please think of them when you plan your next event or project. Here’s the link”
